A nice, mostly sunny day on a local meadow and the surrounding commons. A big variety of colourful butterflies enjoyed the warm weather and the Burnet moths started emerging. On the commons the song of the Yellowhammers was heard all over beside the buzzing of bees and wasps, hornets chewing wood, grasshoppers and crickets chirping and later in the afternoon the begging call of the almost grown up tawny owlets.
And though it is only mid of July the first mushrooms are out and about too. A few weeks and I am starting my mushroom walks!
