Waxwings in Poole , February 2024

2023-2024 was a rare waxwing winter in the UK, instead of staying in Scandinavia hundreds of Bohemian Waxwing , Bombycilla garrulus, came down to the UK, flying as far South/ South West as Poole. Early February we took a trip over and did not have to search for them for very long as they were right in front of a big supermarket, feeding on the berries in the trees outside the entrance before flying to their other feeding spot , a tree with lots of mistletoes.
